Property Council - Victorian Residential Summit
The Property Council of Australia recently hosted the Victorian Residential Summit – an event bringing together industry professionals to address the challenges shaping Victoria’s housing future.
Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Summit welcomed more than 250 members from across the property sector to explore the pressures influencing the market, as well as opportunities ahead.
Hygge’s Development Director, Jess Newton took part in the program, moderating a panel discussing: “Market Pulse: Trends, Pressures & Projections in Victoria’s Housing Sector.”
The session unpacked data and insights driving Victoria’s residential market – from affordability pressures and planning delays to resource challenges impacting delivery.
Members of the panel also discussed key opportunities including regional growth, institutional investment and stronger public–private partnerships to accelerate affordable housing delivery.
Throughout the Summit, speakers and panellists also shared ideas on how emerging housing models – such as build-to-rent, co-living, student accommodation and retirement living – can contribute to more attainable and sustainable communities across the state.
The Property Council of Australia plays an important role in facilitating advocacy, research, events, professional development and connection within the property industry.
