A new chapter in Adelaide

After five years of working in South Australia, the Hygge team have reached an important milestone with approval secured for our first Adelaide residential project.

Located in Malvern, just south of the Adelaide CBD, the project will bring 68 new apartments to an established inner-city neighbourhood.

Designed by Adelaide-based architect Woods Bagot, the project has been shaped around its established setting, including the retention of the existing heritage building on the site.

The Malvern project is an important first step for Hygge in Adelaide, following time spent getting to know the city, building local relationships and looking for the right opportunities.

Hygge Director Adam Davidson said Adelaide’s established neighbourhoods and strong sense of place had been part of its appeal.

“We saw an opportunity to add thoughtfully designed housing within established neighbourhoods, particularly for people looking to right-size or downsize while staying close to the communities they already know.”

Putting down roots in Adelaide

Malvern is the first of two Hygge projects currently progressing in Adelaide.

A second project at St Peters, in Adelaide’s inner east, proposes 19 residences and is currently progressing through the planning process.

With Malvern now approved, the Hygge team are looking forward to the next stage of planning, detailed design and delivery.
